The same day we played at Blackwell's Pond Park, we checked out Park Terrace Park as well. It's a bit out of the way, at least for us, but it was a nice park with lots of room to play! It appears to be an older park, so some of the play structures are more what I remember playing on as a kid, and not quite what my kids are used to seeing.
to this park is a bit strange. There is a parking lot behind the elementary school on the South end of the park (which may actually be school employee parking or something, I'm not really sure), which puts you quite next to the basketball courts, but as far as you can get from the playground. You can also park street side on either La Loma Dr. or Monte Rosa Dr. and walk a short path into the park. This puts you as close as possible to the more little kid friendly areas of the park. I drove down both these streets and it looked like they're pretty equal when it comes to finding a space to park.
The play area here is pretty large, with a variety of things to do. Swings (baby and regular), monkey bars, and a geometric dome climber. The dome climber was one thing you don't see very often in newer playgrounds. There is a nice walking path around the playground which got some nice shade, but the actual play area doesn't have a single bit of shade on it. We were there right around noon and it was pretty hot with the sun beating right down on us.This park has no bathrooms or drinking fountains. It does have a baseball field, basketball courts, picnic tables, benches, and lots of grass to run and play on though, so as long as you come prepared you'll have plenty to do.
