Carson City has so many great parks! Long Ranch Park is one of the really good ones! Tucked back in Kings Canyon, this park feels a little out of the way, but it's really only a few minutes away from downtown Carson City.
Sitting on 7 acres, there's plenty to do here! Picnic tables stand ready for a quick lunch or a birthday party. The playground has tons of fun features to keep the kids busy.
There are swings and even a teeter totter, with benches all around for parents to relax while the kids burn off some energy. This park also has some nice walking trails if you are looking for a nice place for a stroll.
Our favorite thing about this park though is the creek! Kings Canyon Creek runs right through the park. This stream is the same one that runs over the water just up the canyon, and is a source for at least some of Carson City's drinking water. Being so close to the source, I didn't have any hesitations about letting my kids splash around a bit in the water.
