Run, Rattle, and Roll - Minden

It's official. My kids have a new favorite place to play.
Recently we got to visit Run, Rattle, and Roll for the first time and it was an instant hit! I mean, how could it not be? It's got a race track, a zip-line swing, a 3 level playground, and so much more! Located a quick 15 minute drive from Carson City, it's a wonderland of fun for everyone!
When you arrive at Run, Rattle, and Roll (RRR) and walk into the front lobby, you are greeted by the friendly staff who can help get you all lined out. Not that it's hard. The first thing you have to do is sign a waiver. You can put your whole family on one waiver, so it only takes a moment to fill it out. This can be done online ahead of time here, or you can visit the handy Waiver Station on the left hand side of the RRR lobby when you get there.

My camera was being dumb. I guess we'll just have to go back another day to get better pictures.
Once the waiver is signed, everyone removes their shoes. Socks are required for everyone (even Moms and Dads), but if you somehow got out of the house without them don't worry! RRR sells them right there at the front desk. They really have thought of nearly everything! There are cubbies in the lobby, as well as just around the corner once you enter the gates, so you can stow your shoes and other gear. Now all you have to do is head into the fun zone!
I loved how clear it was that every effort was being made to keep things clean and sanitary here! Hand sanitizer dispensers were scattered about, and even though not a shoe-clad foot was to be found, there wasn't even a whiff of stinky feet smell. The whole place smells and looks fresh and clean. In fact, while we were there, we noticed that the staff came around and tidied and sanitized things periodically so that everything stayed in great shape.

The first thing you see is the amazing indoor Mini Cubs Car Track. There are cars there for everyone; big kids, little kids, girls, boys. There are also a few little pretend play toys like mechanics tools so kids can "fix" their cars. All three of my kids loved the race track. They kept coming back over and over to try out all the different vehicles and to play with the other toys.
If you have a little one who is too tiny for racing, don't worry! There's a place for you! You can head over here to park your stroller and have a massage if baby happens to be napping, or turn your munchkin loose in the Little Crawlers area.

This area is restricted to babies less than one year old and their caregivers, so it's safe for them to crawl and play without worries about them getting trampled by the big kids. We don't fit that demographic so we didn't go play in here, but it looked like fun!
For your toddler/preschool aged kiddos, there is also a dedicated area. The Little Cubs Play Park is intended for children ages 2-5. It has a smaller slide, as well as this bigger one.
This area also has some fun puzzles on the walls and, if you're kiddo is willing to venture back under the slide, there are some great big blocks to play with. Our 4 year old had a marvelous time building herself a princess castle!

If your kids are in the 5-12 crowd (or younger but independent and adventurous like mine are), then you're in luck. You can turn them loose to play, then head to the snack bar for a cup of coffee and some munchies (no outside food/drink is allowed, so this is your source for all food while you're here). Once you've got your snacks in hand, you can head over to the dining area and settle in while your kids go crazy.
And they will go crazy! The main play park has SO much to offer! I feel like it took us most of the first hour of our visit for the kids to explore the whole thing and figure out exactly what was available for them to play on.

There are video games, a trampoline tree house, a ball court, obstacles to climb under, over, and through.
My kids hit the ground running in here and had a marvelous time. They did have one major goal right off the bat though. The giant Speed Slide! As soon as they'd figured out how to get to the top, this became the favorite attraction. They kept going over and over again. Somehow it just never got old.
The one area my kids were a bit hesitant to play in was on the bottom level, way back under the slide. There are some really fun play elements in here, but the lighting is not so good. My two-year-old took a bit of coaxing before she'd go exploring back in the darker areas. Thank goodness she did though, because she discovered her two favorite elements back there! There is a really great zip-line swing, and this awesome barrel swing. She spent a huge amount of time bouncing back and forth between those two!
As far as amenities outside of the play park, RRR has got you covered! They offer free WI-FI, a cell phone charging station, drinking fountains, and the cleanest bathrooms you could hope to find (complete with changing station). I wasn't a big fan of the no shoes + public restroom thing though. I would recommend you store your shoes in the cubbies next to the racetrack (as opposed to the ones in the lobby), so that if you need to rush to the bathroom it's quick and easy to throw your shoes back on. It would be great if RRR were to offer some kind of disposable booties or something in the bathrooms so that you didn't have to worry about it at all.
RRR also has two party rooms that are available for birthday parties and events. The also love to have CAMPERS come in for field trips. While we didn't have a need for these rooms on this visit, I did peek inside and it looked like a pretty great space! Plenty of room for a whole passel of kids! You can book a party right on their website here
Run, Rattle, and Roll offers some great weekly specials. In addition to the ones shown below, they also have an After-School special on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with admission only costing $8.50.
They are also running a great Christmas promotion that gives you discounted admission through December and helps needy families in our community. Can it get better than that?
If you're looking for some great holiday fun, this is a great place to come visit! RRR will be having their Christmas Event on December 16th, from 5-7 pm. Not only will your kids get to enjoy treats, hot cocoa, and do a fun craft, but they will get a chance to visit with the big man himself. Santa Claus will be putting in an appearance that evening! Early Bird tickets are $10, with the price going up to $15 on the day of the event.
