Mason Valley Fish Hatchery - Yerington

The same day that we attended the Carson Valley Days Parade, and visited Ft. Churchill State Park, we did a little wandering around just for the fun of seeing some new country we'd never visited before. We found ourselves driving past the Mason Valley Wildlife Management Area, which might not have drawn us off the main road, but then we saw the sign for the Mason Valley Fish Hatchery. Most people wouldn't find that to be a big draw, but our family lived at a fish hatchery for several years for my husband's job and now we can't drive past one without stopping in. We're nerds, I know.

East Brockliss Loop - River Fork Ranch - Genoa

We've been so excited to get outside as the weather will let us this Spring. We had a nice sunshiny day and nothing to do, so we decided to head down to the River Fork Ranch and explore the Brockliss Loop.

Kids To Parks Day - Silver Saddle Ranch - Carson City

This was our second year attending Kids to Parks Day here in Carson City. It was a fun family outing both times! Kids To Parks Day is a nation-wide celebration sponsored by the National Parks Trust, and happens the third Saturday of May every year. Missed it this year? It will be back next year!

West Fork Trail - River Fork Ranch - Genoa

A few weeks ago we were looking for somewhere to go to get out of the house for a little while. The weather was sunny and gorgeous and we knew we had to soak it in while it lasted. After some looking around, we decided to head down to River Fork Ranch. If you're looking for a toddler-friendly hike this is a great option!
Our kids were WAY excited to see cows. The two-year old thought hearing them "moo" was SO funny.

Lattin Family Farm - Fallon

I have wanted to visit Lattin Farms ever since I read about it on a list of agro-tourism sites in our area. It's a bit of a drive though, so I just hadn't gotten around to it. That all changed when a friend invited me to meet her out there to pick raspberries and tomatoes and to check the place out. I loaded my girls up in the car and we headed out to go explore. What a fun place we found, too!
