Lampe Park - Minden

We were driving through Minden one day after taking care of a few errands, and happened to drive past Lampe Park. The kids almost went crazy when I didn't pull in right away, but we had other places we had to be that day. They begged for almost two weeks before we finally made it back here, and they were SO excited to finally get to play here!

When we pulled into the parking lot the kids were SO excited! Good thing, because it's a bit of a hike over to the play area. There is a nice walking path over from the parking lot though, which would easily accommodate a stroller or wagon.
Oh boy did we love this play area! There are tons of swings, both baby and regular. Of course that's where my kids always head first.
Next we spent a HUGE amount of time play on the play structure. It was tons of fun for everyone, although some of the features were too much for our two-year-old. The structure is rated for ages 5-12.
We left one of our hide-and-seek rocks here, so let us know if you found it!
Also part of the play area, there are several ride-on toys, as well as two digging scoops.

All around the perimeter of the play area there and picnic tables and BBQ grills. There are also racquetball courts, tennis courts, and a beach volleyball area.
As far as amenities go, there are several drinking fountains scattered around the area, but none of them worked when we were there. I suspect that they just aren't turned back on after being weatherproofed for the winter.
There are bathrooms at this park, but they were a pretty far walk from the play area. They were in decent shape, not spotless but not gross either.
There is not a changing table in the bathroom, but there is a bench that could be used for the job. Or as a place for your kids to hang out while you take care of business.
