Blackwell's Pond Park - Carson City

After doing some shopping the other day, the kids and I decided to check out a couple of new (to us) parks. We really enjoyed playing at Blackwell's Pond Park (listed as Spooner/Oxbow Park on google maps). It was pretty, and the neighborhood was very peaceful. All the birds singing in the trees were so fun to listen to!
This is a small park, and some of the equipment looks like it's been here a while, but it was quite pleasant. There were lots of shade trees around the play area, with benches for parents to sit on.

This park was perfect for my 4 and 7-year-olds, but some of the features were a little too challenging for our 2-year-old. She still had fun, I just had to keep an eye on her and help her out occasionally.
There is a little gazebo here, with a couple of picnic tables underneath, but no BBQ grills. There are no restrooms or drinking fountains, so plan accordingly.
One thing that makes this park unique is the large green space, which is actually a natural wetland area. The grass was somewhat soggy the day we were there, so I would imagine after a lot of rain it would be unsuitable for playing in. The trees and marshy areas were full of birds talking and singing to each other, which is always fun to listen to.
There is not a sidewalk or path through the park to the other side, though there is one along the street. On the west end of the park there's even a set of stairs to make the transition from street level to park level easier.
