The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada - Carson City

We are big fans of Children's Museums. We have been to several, in multiple states, and they are always a great way to spend a day with the kids! This one is not huge, but they have tried really hard to pack every corner with something great for a variety of ages.
When you arrive at the museum, there is a small amount of 2 hour parking in front, or you can turn onto Ann St. and there is parking there and at the back on Plaza St. Head through the front doors and you're all set!
Immediately inside the front doors are the front desk, restrooms (complete with changing table and a tiny kid-size toilet), drinking fountain, gift shop, a model railroad, and a water sluice box.
From there you move into the main room of the museum.
I won't even try to list everything this room has to offer, but let's just say there's a ton! There are some areas that are perfect for infants/toddlers, some that are better for school age kids, and everything in between. There are benches where parents can sit while their kids run around and have a blast.
At the end of the main hall is a stage area, filled with puzzles, a piano, and a bunch of other fun things. Don't forget to check that area out too!
We found that the climbing structure was a little too difficult for our 2-year-old, but there were plenty of other things for her to do, so it was okay.
Our 6-year-old spent the most time at the treadwall; a climbing wall that moves as you climb so you never reach the top. It took a while for us to notice that there is a dial on the right hand side that lets you adjust the speed based on the size/agility of the climber.
The room that was the favorite for both our girls was the grocery store/kitchen area. They loved the little shopping carts, the variety of food, and all the dishes to "cook" it in.
Once we'd exhausted the main room of the museum, we headed downstairs to visit the STEM room and the Art room. Both were big hits with the kids. Downstairs you will also find a few other small exhibits, as well as more bathrooms.

The Art Room is a lot of fun. There was a painting easel that allowed for up to 4 people to paint at once. There was also a table with miscellaneous art/craft materials that kids and parents could choose from the create whatever you could dream up. We spent a LOT of time in here! :)
The art room is only open Saturdays and Sundays from 1-3 pm though, which is sad for those of us who are there during the week.
