Tahoe Rim Trail from Spooner Summit - Lake Tahoe

We love finding nice kid-friendly hikes! We spent a couple of hours hiking and enjoying being outside on the Tahoe Rim Trail near Spooner Summit last summer, and you should too!

We parked on the north side of Hwy 50. The parking lot isn't huge, but there's another larger one just across the highway. There isn't a cross walk, so take care getting across the highway.
This trail is wide and easy to walk on. I wouldn't call it stroller friendly, but it was a good trail. there are views of Spooner Lake as you go, which were pretty! Another fun thing we found along the way were snow flowers, still hanging around at the end of June!
We meandered along the trail and let the kids set the pace. After they seemed to be done hiking we found a nice little clearing and just sat and enjoyed relaxing in the great outdoors for a while before hiking back.
