Splash Fountain - Bob McFadden Plaza

We recently discovered that Carson City has a splash pad of sorts, and we wasted no time going to check it out! It's nothing fancy, but it's still plenty of fun!

McFadden plaza is a small open area surrounded by several businesses, located between Carson and Curry streets. The plaza sits immediately to the north of the Fox Brewpub. We found the easiest parking to be across Curry in the Farmer's Market lot. There is also a limited amount of street-side parking available.

The plaza contains a stage, some nice benches, and a fountain/splash pad. It is surrounded by several great little restaurants in case you get the munchies while you're visiting. There is a great line-up of free concerts and movies here for the community as well.

The splash pad is really more of a fountain. There are streams of water that spray up out of the plaza floor, but there aren't any of the toys and water features that most of us associate with splash pads. It was fun, but next time we'll bring some buckets and water toys with us to make it more fun.

There are nearby benches where you can stash your things while you play, or set kids to dry out for a few minutes before driving home. There are no restrooms, and at least one of the surrounding businesses had a sign indicating they do not welcome plaza guests (who aren't ordering food) to use their facilities. You'll want to have a plan in mind if one of your group needs the facilities. I'm sure there's a nearby business somewhere that has public restrooms, but I can't point you to which one.
