We found ourselves in Reno a few weeks ago with some time to kill, so we decided to see if there were any nearby libraries we hadn't visited yet. The Sierra View Library showed up as the closest one to us on the map, so we headed in that direction. My phone led us on a merry wild goose chase, but we eventually found the library and got to enjoy all the fun things it had to offer.
The Sierra View library is located inside the the Reno Town Mall, which is why it took us a while to find it. We were looking for a standalone location, but we eventually figured it out. :) After a few trips up and down the escalators just for kicks and giggles, we headed into the library to see what they had to offer.
The children's area here is HUGE! At first it doesn't seem to have a whole lot to offer outside of reading material, but a little investigation uncovered all kinds of kid-friendly fun.
My three year old is obsessed with puzzles right now, so she spent most of her time playing with the collection of large floor puzzles. There was also a chalkboard table the kids could color on, and board games to play with.
The older kids enjoyed the computers and building giant creations out of some fun crayon-shaped foam blocks. There were coloring books and crayons that kept my five-year-old happy for a long time.
4001 S Virginia St, Reno, NV 89502Overall we enjoyed our time at this library, even if it did smell a little stale. If we ever find ourselves in the area with time to kill we'll probably end up here again.

***There are no bathrooms in the library itself but they are just outside in the mall proper. You do have to get a key code from an employee to get in there though, so plan ahead. :)
